Caches No’s 5198 to 5215 – Bonn Mega Part 3

The two German cachers who had come to our Mega to tell us about this Bonn Mega (Cache42Bears) also have a set of Adventure Lab caches a few miles outside Bonn, in the grounds of a monastery.Fortunately Matthew has a friend Constantine for whom the Bonn Mega was a day trip, so had a car, so we could all squeeze in and go to the Monastery.

29th February 2020 – Der Name der Rose Lab Cache #1 – Pforte – cache #5198
Constantine was also a big help in translating the cache details into English, as there was an element of puzzling to work out the answers and it was very useful to have someone who could translate for us !
The first lab cache was at this side door to into the building.

29th February 2020 – Der Name der Rose Lab Cache #2 – Friedhof – cache #5199
A grave in the Monastery’s Cemetery.

29th February 2020 – Der Name der Rose Lab Cache #3 – Bibliotheque – cache #5200

29th February 2020 – Der Name der Rose Lab Cache #4 – Kreuz – cache #5201

29th February 2020 – Der Name der Rose Lab Cache #1 – Magier – cache #5202

29th February 2020 – C42B – Der Name der Rose – Bonus GC83QWZ – cache #5203
There was also a bonus cache for the lab series which we found relatively easily

29th February 2020 – Völker und Kulturen GC49Q90 – cache #5204
There was another nearby cache which was hidden by the local museum… as we were looking for the cache we found the spare keys for the museum! We didn’t try them to see as we hadn’t got the alarm codes, but it was quite strange to think that the museum staff thought a safe hiding place was virtually the same place as a local cacher thought was a safe hiding place

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Ludwig Von Beethoven – cache #5205
After we had got back into the city centre and had something to eat we went to look for more of the BTHVN Story series Lab caches, and other caches that we came to along the route

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Beethoven Denkmal – cache #5206

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Breuningsches Haus – cache #5207

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Remigiusplatz – cache #5208

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Schlosskapelle – cache #5209

29th February 2020 – Bonn – Rathaus GC4PH1Z – cache #5210
Matthew had been to Bonn with work only a few weeks earlier, and had already found this cache, but we didn’t need his help to find it quickly

29th February 2020 – Unser Bonner Marktplatz – Virtual Reward 2.0 GC892RG – cache #5211
This virtual cache required a picture taken from the Market Hall Steps

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Wirtshaus Zehrgarten – cache #5212

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Remigiuskirche – cache #5213

29th February 2020 – BTHVN Story Lab Cache – Beethoven Haus – cache #5214

29th February 2020 – Ah! BTHVN! GC8C0CP – cache #5215
Last cache of the day, a little puzzle cache in the centre of Bonn
