Strange to find that I haven’t used that title since 2012… I had this idea in my head that I used it for the first caches of every year, but I only used in for 2011 and 2012.
As with the last couple of years though my first cache of the year was a visit to the pub ! Continue reading
Caches No’s 3934 and 3935 – The End of the Year Show
2015 was not a very good year for caching as far as my statistics are concerned. I only found 363 caches, not even one per year, certainly my lowest total of any of the 6 full years I have been caching. I only found caches on 55 days of the year – again the lowest total of any full year. In fact the only statistic which improved this year was the number of events that I attended – 26 in total. Caches No’s 3924 to 3933 – Autumn in Hunstanton, 2015 Style
My annual Autumn trip to Hunstanton in Norfolk (see 380, 890, 1700, 2550, 2950 & 3700 caches ago) and by now I have found almost all of the reasonable caches on the route (especially as 150 miles of the route I also travel for my camping weekend every Summer). There are several drivebys in litter strewn laybys that I haven’t found, some I have looked for on more than one occasion, but these don’t really interest me so I don’t ‘plan’ on going to have another look for them. So as the weather wasn’t looking too good I didn’t set off early and only found a couple of caches on the way down Continue reading
Caches No’s 3907 to 3923 – A Welsh Halloween Part 3
On the Sunday we had breakfast in the hotel (The Royal White Lion, as in the headline picture, our room was the left end one on the second floor) and decided to head up to the Bryntirion again and do some caches round there, first of all though we had to go and find the multicache that we had found the feeder for the day before (we were going clockwise around the lake when we found the feeder and the final was back the way we had come, so we elected to leave it until the next morning) Continue reading
Caches No’s 3880 to 3906 – A Welsh Halloween Part 2
Saturday morning, and after a good breakfast we decided that the itinerary for the day would be to go caching around Bala Lake, then come back to town for some lunch, then some caches near the town before heading off up the Bryntirion for the evenings festivities.
First of all though we went for a walk along the main street via the nearest cache to the Hotel Continue reading
Caches No’s 3868 to 3879 – A Welsh Halloween Part 1
When the Halloween Mega Committee announced they were having a rest this year Adam (UKCacheMag) said ‘Let’s go to the Camping thing in Wales instead’ So we did. Camping at the end of October isn’t really our thing though so Adam booked us into a nearby hotel, we took Angel78 along with us as well, the first of our trips she’s been on this year.
The trip down I took a day off work for, so I planned my route via a few Survey Monument locations. I didn’t set off particularly early as the weather was crap when I woke up, but the day soon brightened up and I was in sunshine by the time I got to the first cache. Continue reading
