Caches No’s 3224 to 3228 – New Caches and Church Micros

I have to say that Church Micros are growing on me, there aren’t that many around here so I hadn’t taken much notice of them, but there are about 5,500 in the country and visiting them is getting very popular so I joined the Church Micro group on Facebook… My 42 CM finds makes me pretty much a novice, especially behind the top finder who has found 3,500 of them (the next on the list has only found 2,700 so they are in a league of their own)
Two new caches were put out between home and Ilkley one Saturday evening, so I went along the next morning to find them… not FTF’s this time as I wasn’t up at the crack of dawn to get them !

You just can’t not look suspicious when the farmer comes past and you are poking about in his fence… Hopefully my smile was enough to persuade him I wasn’t up to no good !
Fairly easy to find the cache when he’d driven slowly past…
After I had logged it the CO sent me an email to say that there are no worries about the farmer as he is his Father In Law !

UKCacheMag was chatting the other weekend about having an ‘i-spy’ type book of things you can find while out caching, like the different types of Post Box and Phone box… I’m thinking this Victorian Post Box is just the thing he was thinking about

Next day I thought I would go out and find the two nearest Church Micros to me, but first there was another new cache on the way, with some inquisitive cows guarding it – or maybe they just wanted someone to open the footpath gate so they could get round the cattle grid keeping them in their field… I managed to avoid getting stung by the nettles growing in profusion around the cache – probably cos TeamMX had battered them down the day before !

A church micro at a church on the Harewood estate. A short walk up the track and a quickly found cache. I went to have a look at the church and was surprised at how many gravestones there were in the churchyard, but then the church has been there a long time

I struggled to find this at first so I fired up my phone and read through the old logs – got to one cacher’s DNF log and looked where he said he thought it should be – and there it was !
