UK Mega day itself…
I have written before how the actual Mega days are a bit unexciting, and this Mega was no different, Yes there are a lot of people there and many you don’t see from one year end to the next – indeed I spent a lot of the day sitting out in the sun chatting to an ever changing table of people and that was pleasant, but that was outside of the Mega committees offerings to entertain their customers
– And don’t forget we are now customers as the Megas are no longer free.
If Yorkshire do hold the Mega again in 2028 and I am in any way involved I will be pushing for a more immersive experience, not sure how that will be achieved yet but one thing it won’t involve is starting things off throwing away a set of 10 Lab caches between the gates and the hall itself.. They had tried a bit, they were about different notable places in the West Midlands… but they were multiple choice so that made it that you didn’t even need to see the board with the question on as long as you were near enough you could answer the question… You could do so much more with the Lab caches and make them so much more interesting and exciting
