As it’s Easter I think it’s only right and proper that we remember the most stupendous weekends in the world, those spent at Caister. I don’t actually have that many pictures of Caister, I think I was always too drunk and too busy to actually get my camera out and take some !

For this Caister post I want to set the record straight… you see many people imagine that it is the blokes who went to Caister primarily to get drunk and meet members of the opposite sex, but as I will show, at least in 1990 when this set of pictures was taken, the girls were as bad if not worse !

We’ll start off at the Supermarket… in this case Sainsbury’s in Norwich. We were there because Malibu Mel’s mother had packed her stuff and had sent her off with what she thought was plenty enough alcohol for the whole 5 days we were away… Mel had consumed it all on the drive down (well it is a long 5 hour 200 mile journey) So we needed to go to the shop to stock up on Diamond White and Malibu.

The preparations for the evening started early with a light meal, in Mel’s case a light meal washed down with 4 bottles of Diamond White… or Deezer Weet as it was more commonly known to us

Then when suitably lubricated it is time for the ladies to prepare themselves for the evening, it is important to them to look their best

I seem to remember that Ibbo was quite taken with Zippy’s hair removal method and gave her a helping hand.

After cleansing and smoothing the body, a girl needs to put on her pulling gear, and as anyone who has seen Bridget Jones will know, she needs to carefully consider everything she wears, not just the garments that can be seen

Then when all is ready it’s over to the venue for the session… and hopefully for the girls some attention from members of the opposite sex – and I have to say, their preparations seemed to do do the trick

Of course being modern women and working on the plenty of fish in the sea theorem there is no reason for them to stick with the same boy for the whole evening…

(and yes, as at least one of you will remember there were times when lucky pants meant no pants at all for Zippy, but that’s a story from another year…)
