So, after an extended caching session the previous evening I set off down to Lincoln

The sixth time I’ve attended Hike around Hykeham and this was possibly the best so far

1st September 2019 – Village Hall Series #541 – North Hykeham GC8BYZ0 – cache #4999
This was a bit like Chinese Whispers… although Klur had done the jigsaw she was in the carpark on the phone when Jeff, Kerry, Alison and I went to look for the cache… no coordinates, just a ‘oh, it’s over there by the green thing from a fellow cacher.

So we went over and looked at the aforementioned object and there was no cache… then it turns out that the message wasn’t ‘by’ but ‘near’ the green thing, thus we widened our search area and soon spotted something that didn’t look quite right.

I was on 4999 finds, so I discussed with Kerry, Matt, Klur, Alison and Jeff which was the best cache in Lincoln to do for the milestone and it was decided that I should do the virtual for my 5,000th – mainly I think because they wanted to take pictures of me sat on the cannon !

Jeff and I went down the hill a little to find this cache, Alison and Kerry had both found it previously and weren’t going to walk down the hill just to walk back up it again !
