Caches No’s 4982 to 4997 – Hillgorilla’s a Beast Part 2

A week to go to the Manchester Geocoinfest and only 19 caches to go, which actually presented a problem, Which cache to do for the milestone and how to manipulate things so that I got to the right cache at the right order.
So I discussed this with my friends and there wasn’t really a cache that was floating my boat, so I decided that I would forget Manchester and go for the 5000 in Lincoln, which involved required finding most of the caches on Saturday evening – so back to the other half of Hillgorilla’s Jigidi puzzle caches.

31st August 2019 – Hillgorilla’s Beast (19). GC8A8TY – cache #4982
First of the ‘Beast’ caches for today… It took me far too long to find it, mainly because I was looking for a cache like the 15 or so earlier in the series caches I found last week… and secondly because I couldn’t find it I was flipping between the two hint matching items, one on each side of the road. (and my phone seemed to be pointing me to what turned out to be the wrong side)
In the end I was about to give up, went back for one last look and spotted the disguised cache

31st August 2019 – Hillgorilla’s Beast (20). GC8A8V8 – cache #4983
After reading logs for this and the next few caches and having found number 19 I knew that this section of the series were the same type of caches, so it was a quick find as I knew just what I was looking for

31st August 2019 – Hillgorilla’s Beast (21). GC8A8VJ – cache #4984
Fake grass is easy to spot when you are looking out for it

31st August 2019 – Hillgorilla’s Beast (22). GC8A8VW – cache #4985
Another smiley face

31st August 2019 – Hillgorilla’s Beast (23). GC8A8WH – cache #4986
Doing this as a drive by, there was not really a good place to park here, so I went up the road a bit and abandoned the car in the passing place… and obviously as soon as you do that the road becomes as busy as Briggate in the rush hour…
After reading other logs before reaching the cache I ignored the obvious hiding places and went straight to it

31st August 2019 – Hillgorilla’s Beast (24). GC8A8WZ – cache #4987
Another smiley face… Just realised I seem to have missed out numbers 17 and 18 of this series !
Oh well save them for another day

31st August 2019 – Take ‘Another’ Seat GC4ZXX7 – cache #4988
Took longer to find than it should have, even looking in the right place the cache was so hidden by vegetation that I didn’t at first see it

31st August 2019 – Fred and Hilda’s Place GC27Q8R – cache #4989
An easy find, and I do like a cache with a convenient bench to sit on while signing the log

31st August 2019 – Skipton Simulation No 2 GC87PCB – cache #4990
Totally confused here… couldn’t find the cache, looked at the hint and there wasn’t the object about… then looking at logs I realised the hints for 1 and 2 were mixed up, so using the hint for 1 as a basis for my search I found the cache

31st August 2019 – Skipton Simulation No 1 GC87PC6 – cache #4991
Having been to 2 first and realised that the hints were mixed up I used the hint for number 2 here and quickly found the cache

31st August 2019 – Skipton Simulation No 5 GC87QK8 – cache #4992
Yet another smiley face

31st August 2019 – Skipton Simulation No 4 GC87PCW – cache #4993
So many hint matching possibilities, but I couldn’t find the cache at any of the obvious ones, so only one thing left to do, try the unlikeliest one… and there was the cache

31st August 2019 – OTT: Lothersdale View G1CETJC – cache #4994
Not a bad view, but those hawthorns thorns are wicked 🙁

31st August 2019 – Skipton Simulation No 3 GC87PCM – cache #4995
Another quick find by using the good hint

31st August 2019 – The Skipton Crest GC4G8VE – cache #4996
The amount of nettles and brambles made this not so easy to retrieve

31st August 2019 – Wharfedale Tour Climbs #2- Cote de Blubberhouses GC8B71R – cache #4997
Rather disappointed in the title of this cache as it was known as ‘The Cote de Kex Gill’ on Le Tour.
Last find of the day, and by far the biggest container of the day
