On Saturday night more new caches were published, placed in Lister Park on the edge of Bradford, this was bound to provoke the FTF hunters out to get these new caches, indeed I was a little surprised that there wasn’t someone out in the midnight hour hunting them with a torch… but maybe the park isn’t too good a place to go after dark.

Another Saturday afternoon, and this time a cold, damp miserable one, not the sort of day I wanted to be going out walking so there was only one thing for it – Road Trip !
There had been a new set of caches put out up in the Dales a couple of weeks before, so I thought I’d go and find them, there didn’t seem to be much logic to the route, in fact it was hard actually working out where some of them were in relation to the last one, but on the map I worked out where they were and what other caches I could get to along the way.
4th October 2010 – Cache in the Bank GC2FT8M – cache #828
Monday, and another new cache reachable at Lunchtime. This onhe had actually appeared the previous week, but with the other lunchtime caching trips I made and the rain on other days I didn’t get round to finding this one before.
The cache is hidden at the base of a cliff, so the GPS which is either blocked from Satellite view by the cliff or has the signal bouncing from the rocks, is pretty useless.
The clue said ‘Rock Face’, and looking at the cliff there is a face carved into it.
Saturday afternoon, and I had a bit of time to fill, so I decided to go and do somne caching, some fairly local caching – working on clearing my 6 mile radius so I headed over towards Harrogate, parked my car at the end of a road and went off to find caches, one that I knew where it was and two others that followed on from it

I’d spent many hours over the summer tramping around Ilkley and up on Ilkley Moor to clear the 50 odd caches that there were there, and then someone comes along and puts three more caches in, so I had to go and clear them. Saturday morning and I was out shopping, so I took the opportunity to clear two of them
25th September 2010 – Mr Tumnus GC2DD4H – cache #813
A cache in a wood, by a lamp post (good job I went to see the film so at least I got the reference !) the trouble was that with the tree cover there wasn’t a good GPS signal and there were two lamp posts in the wood and my GPS had the co-ordinates right in the middle of the two of them… I searched for about 15 minutes, then walked away from the wood about to give up, but thought I’d go back and give it one more go Continue reading
