Caches No’s 3957 to 3994 – A long day caching

It was about this time that I started thinking about my 4,000th cache milestone, we had our Mega 2018 Launch event planned for the 30th January and I thought that as a prime mover on the organising committee it would be a fitting thing to make the launch event my milestone. So I had 43 caches to get and just one week to do them in… Fortunately I had a days caching planned on the Sunday before the event, English Pete had arranged for a Breakfast event at a hostelry where a 20 cache series started, or if the weather was inclement there were other series (both walking and drive-by nearby that I could do to get the numbers).
First of all though there were some caches to get on the way… Continue reading

Caches No’s 3938 to 3956 – The Alverthorpe Amble

To further our organisation for the 2018 Mega we had a Committee meeting on a Sunday morning back at the Toby Carvery where we held the initial interest meeting. As some people were having to travel a reasonable distance we decided to have a caching trip round a newish local series afterwards, and to give ourselves a time limit on the committee meeting we let it be known on Facebook that we were going to be starting this series at 12:00 so there were plenty of other cachers coming along with us. Caches No’s 3934 and 3935 – The End of the Year Show

2015 was not a very good year for caching as far as my statistics are concerned. I only found 363 caches, not even one per year, certainly my lowest total of any of the 6 full years I have been caching. I only found caches on 55 days of the year – again the lowest total of any full year. In fact the only statistic which improved this year was the number of events that I attended – 26 in total. Caches No’s 3924 to 3933 – Autumn in Hunstanton, 2015 Style

My annual Autumn trip to Hunstanton in Norfolk (see 380, 890, 1700, 2550, 2950 & 3700 caches ago) and by now I have found almost all of the reasonable caches on the route (especially as 150 miles of the route I also travel for my camping weekend every Summer). There are several drivebys in litter strewn laybys that I haven’t found, some I have looked for on more than one occasion, but these don’t really interest me so I don’t ‘plan’ on going to have another look for them. So as the weather wasn’t looking too good I didn’t set off early and only found a couple of caches on the way down Continue reading

Caches No’s 3907 to 3923 – A Welsh Halloween Part 3

On the Sunday we had breakfast in the hotel (The Royal White Lion, as in the headline picture, our room was the left end one on the second floor) and decided to head up to the Bryntirion again and do some caches round there, first of all though we had to go and find the multicache that we had found the feeder for the day before (we were going clockwise around the lake when we found the feeder and the final was back the way we had come, so we elected to leave it until the next morning) Continue reading
