Caches No’s 4608 to 4611 – A Frustrating Morning

Further catching up on local caches that had been placed while I was busy with the Mega… This morning I popped up to do Smurfs Anniversary cache, then headed on to a cache placed for the previous years Mad March Meet, then headed down to an old railway line for a set of caches that caused me lots of frustration – because I couldn’t find them !
And it wasn’t just that I couldn’t find them but some of them weren’t really in places that you could do a thorough search of without looking terribly suspicious

10th October 2018 – Yeadon Dambuster 3 GC7KYM8 – cache #4608
A nice easy find of a cache only a hundred yards or so from the pub where the Mad march Meet (2017) had been held, but I hadn’t got the cache then nor at any time since

10th October 2018 – Nature Trail #1 – Troll’s Hide GC6JX14 – cache #4609
It was only by looking at the photographs and working out where people were standing that I found the cache

10th October 2018 – Hanging Around – Abigail’s Cache GC6NNH0 – cache #4610
An easy cache made more challenging by the fact that there were workmen building something just the other side of the fence and so I was waiting for them to turn away before I snuck in for the cache…
Then as I walked back up the path I found I had dropped my pen so I had to double back and wait again for the workmen to be looking the other way before I could retrieve it

After this I didn’t find GC6JX1D Nature Trail #2 – Stairway to heaven? – I knew what I was looking for and how it was hidden but there were dozens of potential matching hiding places and I couldn’t find it in any of them (The next ‘Finder’ just replaced the cache with a matching one – so I am thinking it wasn’t there)

10th October 2018 – Nature Trail #3 – A game of bridge? GC6JX23 – cache #4611
The coordinates seemed to be putting me at one end of the bridge, where there was a suitable hiding place but no cache…
So I looked at the finders photographs and realised that I should be at the other end of the bridge where there were not one but two similar holes, one of which contained the cache

After this I didn’t find GC6JX2E Nature Trail #4 Piggy on the ‘Branch’ line nor did I find GC6JX3E Nature Trail #5 Is that ‘wall’ that’s left?
The first was in the garden rubbish thrown over the fence at the bottom of someones garden (you look suspicious searching there) and the second hidden in a crack in a many cracked wall at the side of the main road – again you are conspicuous looking there
