Caches No’s 4597 to 4606 – Sun Lane on a Sunny Day

Another bright and sunny October afternoon, and what with the 10,000 steps a day and seeing Jen I have got back into the swing of geocaching, a mojo that has been missing for a couple of years now has been refound.
I decided this day to go to the village of Burley in Wharfedale, a few miles from home, and do some caches that formed a little walk – the first of the caches was placed in March 2015, but the latest is less than a year old

9th October 2018 – What a Tip! GC7E48T – cache #4597
The walk starts off at the entrance to Sun Lane Nature Reserve – or if you are a local the old tip ! Straightforward find here

9th October 2018 – Zoe Style GC5PEB5 – cache #4598
A very popular path on a sunny afternoon, and as easy to find the cache

9th October 2018 – Hawthorn Hideaway GC7F4AR – cache #4599
Took longer than it should have done to find the cache… curious cows came to see what I was doing

9th October 2018 – Paintball Peril GC67HRP – cache #4600
Dodgy GPS signal under the trees meant I was looking around every tree in the neighbourhood – eventually I found the right one

9th October 2018 – Sun Lane RXR – Dismount! GC7F3V6 – cache #4601
Found right by the dismount, but not hidden as per hint

9th October 2018 – Ancient gate GC78M3C – cache #4602
A busy path at school kicking out time, but I found a few seconds peace to sign the cache

9th October 2018 – Stumpy Hollow GC7JVD7 – cache #4603
I was having trouble getting to the cache as my hand didn’t seem to fit, but when I used my other hand and rotated my wrist to the right angle I got the cache with my fingertips (after manipulating it with a twig to bring it as near the opening as possible)

After this I didn’t find GC7BJ6Z Weir Is It? – I knew where it should be from the logs and description, but I couldn’t find it

9th October 2018 – On t’way teur t’Stones GC7BJT6 – cache #4604
Easy enough to find… busy path though

9th October 2018 – It’s the Pits! GC7E39X – cache #4605
I got here just a few seconds before the start of rush hour… I know this because I parked in the waterworks entrance just over the road and had little problem getting over the road to get to the cache…
However it took me an age to find a gap in the traffic long enough to get back to my car… a steady stream heading into Ilkley… and it was only that the traffic was almost stationary backed up here from the traffic lights that I managed to get out of the entrance back onto the road to Otley

9th October 2018 – Daahn a’t’owd Mill GC7BKDZ – cache #4606
And a final easy find to finish off with
