Caches No’s 1466 to 1471 – The Dentist and the Mad March Meet IV

I was having a little problem with an abscess under a tooth… it was getting larger and beginning to hurt. This had happened just before Christmas and it had been one of the worst pains I had ever had to endure – until I went to the Dentist and got some Antibiotics and gave them 36 hours to work… then I was alright.
This time I decided that going to the emergency dentist for more antibiotics had better be done sooner rather than later, so I took some time from work to go…

15th March 2012 – Stumped @ the Castle GC2ZHJP – cache #1466
Conveniently enough there was a cache not 100 yards away from the Dentist, in a large tree stump on the path up to this large house which was built in the 1840’s for a local corn merchant and is now split into several apartments

16th March 2012 – Bramhope Snicket GC3CZ5B – cache #1467
Friday, and after rushing out to find a cache on Feb 29th to fill the calendar I thought I ought to fill in the other so far blank days, so on my way home from work I took a little detour to find this cache hidden at the end of a cycle path that used to be the main road before the nearby road junction was altered

17th March 2012 – Mad March Meet IV GC39FQ3 – cache #1468
One thing I perhaps don’t do enough of is meet local cachers at the caching events… in fact the only one I had been to was the Mad March Meet II in 2009, so I went out of my way to make sure I was free to go to the Mad March Meet 2012 and there I met and chatted with other cachers – many of whom (like me) are otherwise normal people !

17th March 2012 – Bobs Numbers GC3EER2 – cache #1469
One such local cacher is Bob Adams, notorious for finding caches on 1,111 consecutive days, finishing this run on 11/11/11… so ‘Eee Bi Gum’, the organiser of the event put up this special cache in his honour

17th March 2012 – UP T’Dam GC3EEP6 – cache #1470
There were also a couple of caches put out locally to coincide with the event. The first of these was this one, which Eee Bi Gum swears he put up himself in the dark… at least until the day of the meet the weather had been dry, but there was no way I was going to try to climb to the cache up the slippery moss covered tree trunk. Fortunately when I got to the co-ordinates I found Grayglove (top) and G7HRP (bottom) already there and so I just had to sign the log and pass the cache back up to them

17th March 2012 – Carols Dam Silver Cache GC3EEPR – cache #1471
Carol (Er Indoors) is Eee Bi Gum’s better half and the cache she had hidden was in a much less extreme place, under a bush at the side of the path
