Caches Nos. 123 & 124 – Tenerife

My first overseas caches – the headline photograph is the view from my hotel balcony

September 15th 2009 –  Acantilados de Los Cristianos GC1766X – Cache #123
Only Mad dogs and Englishmen go caching in the noon day sun, and you don’t get much worse than the 85° sunshine of Tenerife… and of course the cache is on a hill, well the top of a cliff actually, that involves a quite energetic climb up a rocky tack with steep drops. When I got to the cache site, I could see where it was as there was like a wall built under a rock, the cache was obviously behind it.
At this cache I dropped off the BLUE FISH travel bug.

September 15th 2009 – Los Cristianos GCMAPH – Cache #124
After climbing the cliffs I walked a couple of miles around the bay and then attempted to grab another cache – GCZTKX  – Il Borghetto TB Hotel, however Il Borghetto is a cafe and the cache is hidden in the bushes outside the cafe which was filled with Muggles having their lunch… so I couldn’t get to it.
The next cache involved climbing another hill, the brown cone seen in the photo above, this is an old volcanic vent and sticks up in the middle of Los Cristianos town.
Another easy cache apart from the climbing… then I had another mile to walk back to the hotel… about 5 miles in total in the noon day sun… a mad Englishman !
As I couldn’t get to the TB hotel I had to place the TB’s I had in this cache. At this cache I dropped off the Nacalla’s Bug and Mildred The Monster Travel Bug.

The Acantilados de Los Cristianos cache is on the cliffs across the bay, about directly above where the white boat is
