Caches Nos. 52 to 59 – Another Camping Weekend

Another camping weekend with my friends (some different, some the same) brought me to the Kings Lynn area and afforded me time to do a few caches down there and a few more on the drive back home…

July 18th 2009 – Church Micro 299 – Shouldham GC1EYKN – Cache #52
Found while I was out caching with Hublander and Beanie28 this was an interesting one, an old tree stump that had been cut in half a hinge put in and a hole bored in the hinged part for the cache container that was held in by a magnet… the lengths some people go to !
From this cache I collected the Geocoin – TB1VBW6 – Garden Critters Geocoin

July 18th 2009 – Walk in the Woods GC18195 – Cache #53
This is a real puzzle multicache, in that there are clues that lead you around the wood – the co-ordinates atart you at a signpost where the puzzle sends you to a micro-cache which contains the co-ordinates to another sign post where solving the puzzle leads you to the final cache site… which we had passed within a few feet of about 30 minutes earlier !
The headline photograph shows Hublander at the cache site.
At this cache I dropped off the Mustard’s Cheeky Monkey TB

July 18th 2009 – Church Top View GC15ZXX – Cache #54
After a DNF on another church micro as the hedge it was hidden in had been ripped out to allow farm machinery access to the field I left Hublander and Beanie 28 and headed off to find this cache… an easy find, at which you can see the top of local church as you would expect !
From this cache I collected the Travel Bug –TB1ARN9 – “Cilacap, Indonesia” Unite for Diabetes Travel Bug, and dropped off the ClannKenn Amber TB

July 19th 2009 – Pub Signs The Windmill GCYOG3 – Cache #55
On my way home the next day I decided to have a slow journey looking for a few caches as I went along, the first one I went to find was GC15XM6 – Happy Valley Woods, this is on the old pack horse route that the road has now replaced and so is an nice path through a wooded area… the clue says ‘Look around the base of a mutli trunked tree with Ivy on it” Well I was under trees so had a fairly poor GPS lock. Every tree was multi trunked and every tree had ivy round it… I didn’t look too long before giving up and moving on.
I took a detour off the A1 to grab The Windmill cache which was a 35mm film cannister jammed into a spot not really big enough… the container was damaged and letting in rain…

July 19th 2009 – Scooby Doo Where are you? – Daphne GCVYDQ5 – Cache #56
Another detour off the A1 near Doncaster took me to this one, I was hoping to be able to do this and another one from the car park described in the description… however large concrete blocks were blocking the car park for some reason so I ended up parking the car on the footpath under the A1 bridge itself and just doing this one… More muggles would have been able to see me doing this cache than any other, but they were all travelling along at 70mph on the other side of the fence !
From this cache I collected the Travel Bug – TB2AGC3 – Jolly Holly Santa, and dropped off the Harold The Rescue Chopper TB

July 19th 2009 – Aberford Almshouses GCW5G6 – Cache #57
July 19th 2009 – Motorway Mayhem A1 Bramham Crossroads GCT6RD – Cache #58
Another two short diversions brought me these two caches, I also attempted Motorway Mayhem A1 Bramham Village but the GPS led me to a signpost which ahd just been replaced with one too tall for me to reach the top of !

July 19th 2009 – Motorway Mayhem A1 Boston Spa GCT6RM – Cache #59
The final cache of the weekend was not really a detour as I was coming off at this junction anyway to come home
From this cache I collected the Geocoin – TB1KKCX – Bargee’s caught you Red Handed with my Geocoin
