Bah Humbug… Part V

The Yorkshire Area Christmas Dance of 1988 was held in one of the halls at Bradford University. This is only a short post cos back in 1988 we were on film cameras and you had to pay real money to get the films developed and printed and so sometimes I just didn’t take that many photographs !
The inclusion of this set is mainly because usually I was the photographer not the subject, but this dance has one of the few pictures of me that I have –

Yours truly, posing with the prize I won at the raffle…
I did get into trouble from some quarters for not giving the bear to my then girlfriend Wendy, because it was sort of expected that cuddly toys were for girls… 21 years later the bear is sat on the bed in the spare bedroom here in my house (though his scarf and hat are in the drawer cos he doesn’t need them in the house)
Oh, and no I hadn’t hurt my hand… back in the day it was a Micheal Jackson started fashion to wear one glove

The Wadd, looking kinda stylish and kinda thin
I bet he wishes he still looked like this today !
(I don’t look so different to what I did back then apart from the lack of hair, still overweight and with no fashion sense)

Just to show that we had some good looking people at these dances as well
Here are Cheryl and the lovely Sue from Doncaster

Thornbush leading the troops in a rousing dance to the Birdie Song
(or some other such rubbish)
Also in the picture are, well Wendy (you can’t see her face but I recognise the dress), Wendy-woo (this is the earliest picture I have of her, she’d only just moved up from Leicester) I think the guy in the striped shirt was her then boyfriend from Leicester and on the right is The Wadd, and behind him you can see an arm and some hair with tinsel in so I’m guessing that’s Cheryl
